A small, rural district, Brewster Central consists of five schools located in Putnam County, NY. The district site offers current news items and events on the home page, a searchable calendar, school board meeting information, current lunch menus, and messages from the Superintendent.
How to use the site:
The parent who nominated the site reports that she regularly uses the calendar at a glance on the Home page. She also mentions an ambitious district wide project: during the 2002-03 school year every teacher in the district is beginning the process of building and maintaining an individual Web page. "I appreciate having access to all the teacher websites so I can find out what's going on in my son's classes." These pages are in various stages of development, but teachers will find value in visiting some to see how educators in Brewster Central are tackling the project.
