The IT Guy

WEP Security

Question: How can I connect to a Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) security-enabled wireless access point?

The IT Guy says:
Unfortunately, the answer to this question varies depending on the type of wireless access point being used, the type of wireless card in your computer, and the type/strength of encryption being used. Some brands require that the encryption key be entered in hex format, others in decimal format. In the case of Apple's Airport, the key may be plain text (imagine that!) A good article describing these issues is "Troubleshooting the WLAN".
