Tools for Collaborative On-line Planning
I have teams of teachers who want to work collaboratively to plan lessons. Are you aware of any computer-based tools that help with building lessons that include use of technology?
There are a number of software programs available that include lesson-planning components, however, for online collaboration and use of technology within the lesson, you might want to try two free Internet-based tools, Filamentality and SLATE.
Sponsored by Pacific Bell, Filamentality provides templates teachers may use to create Hotlists, Treasure Hunts, Samplers, and WebQuests. SLATE is a Web-based tool teacher use to build Web pages to help students achieve instructional objectives and is part of the Landmarks for Schools Project.
Teachers may use either tool to create and access lessons. In addition, by sharing a password, teachers are able to work collaboratively on the same lesson.
